Barbour Denies Refund for Unsuitable Product Sold Under False Sales Statements

On August 2, 2026, at 19:49, I visited the Barbour store located on Bağdat Avenue (Selamişçeşme, Istanbul) specifically to purchase a handheld handbag. The sales associate directly recommended and marketed the Barbour Wax Hanging Washbag Organizer as a handbag, reassuring me it fulfilled my stated request. Trusting the staff's product guidance, I purchased the item for 6,895 TRY.
Upon further inspection at home, I discovered the item is functionally a hanging travel washbag/toiletries organizer intended for closets and travel, completely unsuitable as a standard daily handbag. When I returned to the store to request a refund based on this blatant misrepresentation, store management refused the return under the false pretext that the item had been "used," while absurdly continuing to insist that the travel organizer is indeed a handbag.
Selling a product under deceptive specifications that do not meet the customer's explicitly stated requirements—and subsequently refusing a return by falsely claiming usage—violates basic consumer protection standards under Law No. 6502.
I demand that Barbour Turkey overrule the Selamişçeşme store's rejection, accept the return of the mis-sold item, and issue a full refund of 6,895 TRY without further delay.
