I Face Severe Head Injury and Refund Refusal at Airbnb Villa with Private Pool

From August 2 to August 7, 2025, I stayed at “Villa Villasbahar with Private Pool” in Ölüdeniz, Fethiye, booked via Airbnb (Reservation No: HM42FWPKCQ). During my stay, I tripped over an unsecured cover left carelessly on the poolside floor, right in front of the sliding glass door from the kitchen to the pool. I fell and hit my head on the glass, which shattered, causing serious cuts to my head, forehead, and face. I was treated at Fethiye State Hospital, received stitches, and was given a three-day medical report for incapacity to work. These injuries are likely to leave permanent scars and were entirely due to negligence—the cover was placed in violation of safety regulations, with no warning signs, and the glass used was regular glass instead of required tempered or laminated safety glass.
I immediately reported the incident to Airbnb through the Aircover claims system, submitted photos, and completed the required forms. Shockingly, the host demanded ₺10,400 from me for the broken glass, despite the injury being caused by their unsafe setup. I refused this unjust demand. The broken glass was never repaired during my stay, and I had to cover it with cardboard for safety.
I paid ₺59,640 for this booking and am requesting a full refund, $10,000 in compensation for my injuries and trauma, and a formal apology. Airbnb has yet to respond. I also urge Airbnb to ensure safety compliance at this property to prevent similar incidents from happening to future guests.
My problem was not resolved, I did not receive any response.
