Yapı Kredi Mobile Banking Password Cancelled: Account Access Blocked

1

On Friday, September 4, around 16:00, I attempted to make an EFT transaction of approximately ₺35,000 via Yapı Kredi mobile banking from my individual TL demand deposit account. During this transaction, my EFT request was not carried out and my mobile banking password was cancelled without any justification. I am currently unable to access my account and my money. To retrieve my password, I had a video call with the customer representative. At the end of the call, I was told that the password would be sent to my phone, but the message I received stated that I had to go to the nearest branch. As I am currently abroad in Yeosu, South Korea, the nearest branch is about 8,000 kilometers away and it is physically impossible for me to visit a branch. At the moment I can neither perform the EFT transaction nor log in to my account via mobile banking. My money is effectively stuck in my Yapı Kredi account. Even if there is any security-related reason, I would expect this to be reasonably explained and that a customer abroad is not expected to visit a branch. During this process, the customer representative I spoke with only repeated standard phrases instead of understanding my grievance and trying to produce a solution, and did not offer me any concrete alternative. I request that this approach, which negatively affects the customer experience, be examined specifically in relation to the relevant employee and department and that the necessary internal evaluations be made. I request from Yapı Kredi that the amount in my account be securely transferred to another bank account registered in my own name, and that my current account be closed afterwards and that I no longer be contacted following this process.
