Fraud Calls From Axis Bank for Fake Credit Card Limit Increase

214

I received a fraud call on 21-05-2026 from the mobile number 8298081***. The caller identified himself as Shankar K*** and claimed that he was calling from Axis Bank regarding an increase in the credit limit of my Neo credit card. During the call, he stated that my credit limit was being increased and then sent an APK file to my WhatsApp number, claiming it was an official Axis Bank application. He instructed me to open this file and follow his commands. Recognizing this as suspicious, I did not share any personal or card details and did not proceed with his instructions. I request Axis Bank to investigate the number used by this person, take necessary action against this fraudulent activity, and take appropriate steps to prevent such fraud calls in the future.
