VFS Global Delays My Schengen Visa for Aarhus University Observership

I applied for a short-term Schengen visa through VFS Global on September 16, 2024, as I am a neurologist scheduled to join the Neurophysiology Department at Aarhus University as an observer. My flight is booked for Friday; however, I have yet to receive any response regarding my visa status. Last week, I submitted a petition to the Danish Embassy in Ankara for an update, and today I received an email stating that my visa application was forwarded to the Danish Immigration Service. They informed me that they are not the correct authority to whom I should submit petitions, leaving my request unresolved. I have an official assignment from my hospital to attend this observership during these dates, and the prolonged delay—now on its 45th day—is causing considerable hardship. I request that this situation be urgently addressed to allow me to fulfill my professional commitment.
