Vakıfbank Issued Unwanted Insurances Despite My Clear Refusal During Loan Process

As part of the mortgage loan I took out from VakıfBank Çerkezköy branch on 02.12.2024, despite explicitly stating to the customer representative that I did not want any additional insurance, Home Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance—neither of which I know to be legally mandatory—were issued to me, aside from the compulsory insurances. Although these insurances are not mandatory, my request for cancellation was rejected by the customer representative, Ms. F*** G***, who said, "But we had to issue them for you to qualify for the loan, so they were done." If the loan could not be approved without these insurances, then you should have told me, "You cannot get a loan," and I could have consulted another bank. While no information was provided during the loan application process that these insurances were necessary for the loan approval, it is conveniently mentioned when I request cancellation: "But the loan wouldn’t have been approved otherwise." Moreover, when I insisted on the cancellation, Ms. F*** G*** accused me by saying, "What you are doing is not nice at all." I clearly stated to the customer representative that I did not want anything extra like private pensions or additional insurances, only DASK (Compulsory Earthquake Insurance) and Life Insurance, and I was told that was fine. Naturally, I signed the hundreds of pages presented to me; if one were to try reading all of them, one wouldn’t leave the bank for three days. Is it ethical for VakıfBank to gain customer trust and then obtain signatures? I urgently request the cancellation of the current Home Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance. Otherwise, I will file a complaint with CİMER and the relevant banking authorities against Ms. F*** G*** and VakıfBank Çerkezköy branch.
