Turkcell Superbox Complaint: Low Speed, High Cancellation Fee

I recently subscribed to a Turkcell Superbox service with modem model MC8520B in Adana Seyhan, and the installation was carried out on 8 May 2026. From the first day, the internet speed was far below what had been promised during the application. Despite this, Turkcell opened several complaint records after my calls and then repeatedly informed me that the issue was “resolved,” while in reality the speed problem continued exactly the same. To better understand the problem, I tested the connection by comparing it with a regular phone using a Turkcell SIM card connected to the same base station, and the phone consistently delivered higher speeds than the Superbox. Later, the technician sent me a visual claiming that with this 5G technology the maximum achievable speed is 25 Mbps. This limitation was never mentioned to me when I applied; if I had known this, I would definitely not have subscribed to this service. I explained all of this to customer service and requested that my subscription linked to 5309060*** be cancelled. However, I was told that I must pay a cancellation penalty of ₺650, plus taxes and daily usage fees, reaching a total of about ₺2,500 even though I did not actively use the service. They also stated that I do not have the right to withdraw within the legal 14‑day period. Although the modem was switched off, they claimed that 40 GB of data had been consumed, allegedly only from speed tests. Since the service did not meet the conditions that were verbally promised, and my complaints were not effectively resolved, I find the requested cancellation penalty and additional charges unfair and unacceptable. I request the immediate and penalty‑free cancellation of my Superbox subscription, that no debt be created under my name for this subscription, and that all records be updated to reflect that I was not properly informed about the speed limitations of the service.
