Trendyol Rejected My Return Request for an Unused Wahl Hair Clipper

I purchased a Wahl brand hair clipper for ₺3,848 through Trendyol. On the day it was delivered—before even bringing it home—I submitted a return request, stating that I didn’t like the product. The clipper blades weren’t as expected and the body was made of plastic (a photo of the product is attached). However, Trendyol rejected my return request, claiming the box had been opened and the product couldn’t be resold. I do not accept this reasoning for several reasons: 1) The product was already delivered to me with its box opened, which is a valid reason for complaint in itself. If they’re so strict about packaging, why send me a previously opened product? 2) The item was never used—not even plugged in—and was returned with all contents intact. 3) According to the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Distance Sales Regulation, I have the right to withdraw within 14 days without providing any reason. The fact that the box was opened does not void this right for unused products. Trendyol claimed they had video evidence, but when I asked to see it, they refused, citing data protection laws (KVKK). This is a contradiction—what does a video of the product have to do with personal data laws? I even offered to send my own footage of the product, but they said it wasn’t necessary. In conclusion, my legal right to return the product was arbitrarily denied. I will file complaints against Trendyol through both the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Arbitration Board. I’m initiating all legal proceedings. Consumer rights cannot be ignored through arbitrary decisions. Both Trendyol and this country are bound to act according to the law.
