Thebestpdf Signed Me Up for a Subscription Without My Consent
On April 28, 2025, I used Thebestpdf for a one-time PDF conversion and paid $1 for the service. At the time of payment, I believed I was paying only for that single conversion. I was never clearly informed that I was signing up for a subscription, nor did I provide explicit consent for any recurring charges. The dollar amounts are based on the current USD/TRY exchange rate and rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
After carefully reviewing my credit card statements, I recently discovered that recurring charges had been made to my card between April 28, 2025, and May 28, 2026, totaling $32. Because my spouse had possession of my credit card during that period, I was unaware of these payments and never received any notification or warning about them. As soon as I discovered the unauthorized charges, I immediately canceled my credit card.
I have suffered financial harm because Thebestpdf enrolled me in a subscription without my knowledge or authorization and continued charging my card for 14 months. Aside from the $1 payment that I knowingly approved for the one-time PDF conversion, I demand a full and immediate refund of the $32 that was withdrawn from my card without my permission. I also request a clear written explanation of how this unauthorized subscription was activated and why I was never informed about these recurring charges.
