North Face Refused a Refund for My Defective Sneakers
I purchased a pair of sneakers from The North Face store at 41 Burda AVM in İzmit, Kocaeli, around March or April for approximately $153. After wearing the shoes for only about a month, a noticeable defect and deformation developed in the inner heel area.
I took the shoes back to the store, and they sent them for inspection. As a result of the inspection, they acknowledged that there was a problem with the shoes. I clearly stated that I wanted a replacement with the same model, and they initially agreed to my request. However, the store later told me that they could not find the same model and that I could only choose a different product instead.
I explained that I did not want a different product and that, since they had acknowledged that the shoes had a manufacturing defect and could not provide the same model, I wanted a refund of the amount I had paid. Despite this, they told me that they could not issue a refund and that I could only purchase another product. They also responded with an extremely dismissive and customer-unfriendly attitude, saying, “That’s how we operate. Take it or leave it.”
I believe refusing to issue a refund despite acknowledging that the shoes are defective is unacceptable and inconsistent with consumer rights and the reputation of the brand. I request a full refund of the $153 I paid for the defective product and that the inconvenience I experienced throughout this process be properly addressed.
