I own a 2023 model Fiat Doblo 1.5 BlueHDi. Although the user manual clearly states that the maintenance interval is 15,000 km, my vehicle gives an engine oil change warning every 5,000 km. This situation contradicts the manufacturer’s stated standards and cannot be explained by normal use or user error. This issue started when the vehicle reached 30,000 km and has continued up to 40,000 km, during which the warning has appeared three times. Despite this, the authorized service in Sivas, Oto Sabır, insists that this is normal and directed me to the manufacturer. The manufacturer, on the other hand, claims that the issue is user-related. As a result, both parties shift responsibility to each other and the problem remains unresolved. I have already had the oil changed twice due to these warnings, and the authorized service charges ₺8,500 for each oil change. Since the vehicle requests service every 5,000 km, this results in an extremely high maintenance cost of approximately ₺2 per kilometer. When the vehicle requested a third oil change, I refused and took my car back because these frequent and costly services are economically unsustainable and, in my opinion, not consistent with warranty obligations. I do not recall any official case or complaint number having been given to me despite my applications. I request that the vehicle’s maintenance warning system be adjusted in accordance with factory standards, that the technical reason for this issue be clearly and in writing explained to me, and that a permanent and cost-free solution be provided within the scope of warranty. Otherwise, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and pursue my legal rights.
