Steam Wallet Theft: Demand for Refund after Dota 2 Card Scam
My money, saved in my Steam wallet, was mysteriously stolen through Dota 2 card purchases from my account. Steam customer service's response, "we can't do anything about this, there are no refunds," is giving scammers and thieves a free pass. Despite taking all security measures, such as Steam Guard and 2-step verification, this unauthorized purchase was made without my consent or notification. The inability to withdraw or transfer funds and the existence of security gaps are unexpected from a company as large as Steam. In this refund request, I was merely advised to "change my password," and the ticket was closed, highlighting the unreliability of the Steam wallet. Steam must urgently implement a new system to prevent exploitation of vulnerabilities and assist customers affected by such incidents. It's absurd that Dota 2 cards were purchased for thousands of times their original value, and the game associated wasn't even in my library. It's clear: I demand a refund for my stolen money!
