Steam Guard Lockout Prevents Access to My Own Account
I have been unable to access my long-standing Steam account because I no longer have access to Steam Guard. My phone was compromised about a year ago, and I have not been able to access Mobile Steam Guard since then. However, I still have full access to the email address linked to my account, my account login password, and my username.
I have contacted Steam Support several times, explained the situation, and requested that Steam Guard be removed so that I can regain access to my account. However, every time I receive an automated response along the lines of, “We’re sorry, but we cannot help. Please submit a new request,” without any actual resolution. In the latest response, I was also told that purchase information or the original email address is required to verify account ownership, but I currently do not have access to that information. Nevertheless, I am even willing to provide additional evidence, within reasonable security and privacy limits, such as my identification, a photo of myself, or other information that could help demonstrate that I am the legitimate account owner.
The total value of my Steam accounts is more than $500. I do not know the exact monetary value of the account I am trying to recover, but I have used it for a long time and invested significant time and effort into it, so I do not want to lose it. Even though I still have access to the account email, login password, and username, I cannot use my account solely because of the Steam Guard restriction.
I request that Steam verify that I am the legitimate owner of the account based on my existing access to the email address, password, and username, while also considering any additional evidence I can provide. I ask that the Steam Guard restriction be removed and that access to my account be restored. I also request an apology from Steam for the difficulties and lack of resolution I have experienced throughout this process.
