Soyo App Allegedly Shares Phone Number Without Consent, Raising Privacy Concerns

26

On November 13, I used the Soyo app on my Android phone. After meeting someone through the app, I was directed to continue the conversation on WhatsApp, where the other person sent me inappropriate photos. The conversation continued mutually, and then this person called me, introduced themselves as a lawyer, and said that a case would be filed and that they would press charges. I never made my phone number publicly visible; however, my number appears to have been automatically shared with the other party through the Soyo app. I only used the app to log in and out, and I have never experienced anything like this before. So far, I have not suffered any financial loss or received any payment demand. The incident occurred in Ankara, and my email address was registered on my account. Due to my phone number being shared without my consent and encountering this type of situation, I expect a clear explanation from Soyo regarding privacy and security. I also request that necessary measures be taken to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
