Shein Has Refused Return Request Due To Illness & Hospitalization

I placed an order with Shein that was delivered on 8/17, consisting of one pair of shoes, one top, one skirt and one pair of shorts. Due to very serious health issues, I was unable to try on any of the items within the usual time frame. On 9/7 I suffered an injury and became extremely ill, which led to a long-term hospitalization and then outpatient skilled care. I did not return home until 9/27. Once I finally returned home and was physically able to try the items on, I saw that none of them fit. At that point, however, the return window had closed on 9/17. Given my medical situation and the fact that I was in the hospital and under skilled care during almost the entire return period, I contacted Shein customer service and requested that they reopen the return window for this order as an exception. Customer service refused my request and stated that the order had exceeded the return period and that there are fixed service time limits, without taking my special circumstances into consideration. Their last response was, “I am sorry but the return can be processed within 30 days from the package delivered date based on our return policy.” As a regular customer who has made significant purchases over the past year, I find it unacceptable that Shein is unwilling to show flexibility in such an extraordinary medical situation. I am requesting that Shein allow me to return these unworn items from this order and issue a refund to my original payment method. If Shein chooses not to make an exception here, I will no longer feel comfortable purchasing from them in the future.
