SBI Blocked My NRI Account and Demands Costly Attested Hard Copies for KYC

January 5, 2025 1:14 PM49

SBI blocked my account alleging inadequate KYC verification, and the situation has been quite irritating. They said they wanted printed copies with attestation, so I quickly emailed them the necessary paperwork as directed but they rejected it. Getting documentation verified where I live costs £60 each document, and as an NRI they are requesting several documents. Not only is this method costly but also somewhat time-consuming. When I told their support personnel about my circumstances, they were useless and insisted on using strict policies without providing any options. My account has frozen, hence I cannot get my money for pressing necessities. SBI has to rethink its NRIs' policy and provide more workable answers.
