SBI Blocked My Transfer Due to KYC Issues Without Prior Notification

January 3, 2025 10:53 AM129

Recently I had to send ₹3 lakhs to my NRI account with SBI to cover urgent medical bills to my family in India, meant to be forwarded to them. SBI rejected the transfer when I sought to start it, though, saying my KYC records were out of current. The fact that I never had any previous correspondence or notice regarding changing my KYC irritates me most. Several times I tried to fix the problem by calling their designated support numbers, but no one responded. My money is now frozen, and in a time-sensitive scenario I am left powerless. From a reputable company like SBI, I anticipated more responsiveness and communication.
