Examine the battery you're using first. To give their High-Performance tools more power, Ryobi introduced HP batteries with extra pins. Your Ryobi One+ battery may not be producing enough power if you're using one without these additional pins.
For demanding projects, a lower capacity (measured in Amp Hours, or Ah) battery may not be sufficient, even with the correct type of HP battery. Higher capacity batteries, such as 6Ah or 9Ah, are ideal for HP tools in order to fully utilize their power.
The tool itself might be having problems. Make sure the HP battery you're using fits your particular tool in order to troubleshoot, then search for those extra pins. Check out the Ryobi user manual to see which battery types are suggested. Investing in a higher Ah HP battery could greatly improve performance if you're currently using a lower-capacity battery.
