Remax Refused to Refund Commission After Villa Exchange Deal Fell Through
Remax Söz Real Estate visited me, claiming to represent parcel 534 and stating they could also market my parcel 533. They successfully sold parcel 534 after two months of effort and received their commission. Regarding my parcel 533, they proposed a villa exchange deal with 'Roof İnşaat'. As part of the exchange, they asked for an additional ₺1,900,000. I handed over ₺1,900,000 to the company representative, O**** D****, at their office. I also agreed with Mr. A***** from Remax Söz on a commission fee of ₺250,000. As part of this, I paid ₺100,000 to his wife’s account and ₺100,000 in cash at his office, totaling ₺200,000. The remaining ₺50,000 was to be paid upon completion of the deal. We were scheduled to finalize the transaction on 09.12.2024 at the title office. However, O**** D**** called to inform me that they had decided to back out. He refunded ₺1,200,000 immediately and promised to return the remaining ₺700,000 within 10 days. I then requested the return of the ₺200,000 commission I paid to Mr. A***** of Remax Söz, but he refused, claiming the money would not be refunded and telling me to "forget about it." Since the sale did not go through and the other party was the one to back out, I am entitled to the return of my money. The commission was paid in good faith, trusting the name of Remax, but now I feel misled by an individual misusing the reputation of a trusted, industry-leading company like Remax. I expect an urgent resolution to this matter; otherwise, I will pursue all my legal rights.
