PDF Smart Unexpected Subscription Charges

4

I am writing to contest misleading and undue debits made by PDF Smart in connection with their document conversion service. I only needed a one-off conversion and, for that purpose, I entered my bank details and started using a service that was presented as free or very low-cost. At no point was it made clearly visible to me that I would be charged high recurring subscription fees. The offer I selected was the “Limited access – Perfect for small teams just starting out – €1.00 for 7 days, then €49.99/month”. However, on 9 July and again on 4 September, a payment of 49,99 € was debited or attempted from my account by Wwpdfsmrt, which I only discovered upon checking my bank statements. I never knowingly agreed to such 49,99 € debits and I consider these to be hidden and misleading charges used to secure or finance a subscription. I contacted PDF Smart customer service to dispute these payments and request a refund, but they refused to reimburse me. I find this unacceptable and I feel I was misled and billed for a service to which I did not clearly consent. I am therefore requesting a full and immediate refund of all 49,99 € debits linked to this subscription (in particular those of 9 July and 4 September), the cancellation of any subscription or recurring payment linked to my details, and a written apology acknowledging that these charges were not clearly indicated.
