Unauthorized Recurring Charge By PDF Guru – Refund Requested
I am filing this complaint about an unauthorized recurring charge by PDF Guru and requesting a full refund of the amount taken without my consent. On 22 June 2026, I used PDF Guru on their website via my browser for a single PDF-related task and paid approximately USD 0.99 as a one-time payment. I did not see, select, or knowingly agree to any monthly subscription, nor did I intend to authorize any recurring charges. Despite this, on 29 June 2026 my credit card was charged USD 49.99 as a recurring subscription, which appears on my statement only as a “recurring payment.” This charge was completely unexpected. I did not approve this subscription, and I was unable to find any clear or easily accessible option on PDF Guru’s website to cancel a subscription or remove my payment details. My intention was strictly a one-time use of the service. After noticing the charge, I contacted PDF Guru Support and requested that they refund the unauthorized USD 49.99, cancel any active subscription immediately, remove my credit card information from their system, delete my account and all associated personal data, and confirm that no further charges will be made. I am still waiting for a satisfactory resolution. I request that PDF Guru promptly refund the unauthorized USD 49.99 charge, cancel any subscription that may have been started without my clear consent, and provide written confirmation that my subscription has been canceled, my payment information has been permanently removed, and my account and related personal data have been deleted. If this matter is not resolved quickly and fairly, I will be forced to dispute the transaction with my bank/credit card issuer and to pursue the issue through the relevant consumer protection channels.
