OkCupid Verification Code Sent to My Phone Without My Permission

On July 16, 2026, at 12:19 p.m., I received a text message on my phone from a service called Sinch Verify, which I have never used and do not have installed on my phone. The SMS was labeled “sinchverify” and contained a verification code for a platform called OkCupid.

I believe someone attempted to log in to a service using my phone number without my knowledge or consent. Although I have never had an account with, used, or otherwise interacted with Sinch Verify or any related service, the fact that my phone number was used in this way has raised serious concerns that my personal information may have been shared or processed without my authorization.

I have not yet contacted Sinch Verify or any related party about this matter. However, I request an explanation of how my phone number was used to send this message and how my personal information was processed. I also request that my phone number not be used without my authorization for verification or account registration on any platform, that this incident be investigated, that the necessary security measures be taken, and that I be provided with written confirmation of the findings.

I would also like to make it clear that if I receive similar text messages or phone calls in the future, I will consider filing a criminal complaint with the appropriate authorities due to the unauthorized use of my phone number and personal information.
