Moovit Free Version Gave Incorrect Metro Guidance in Istanbul
On October 31, 2025, I encountered a serious misinformation issue in the Moovit app. My destination was Torun Center, and the app suggested that I take the M2 metro line, get off at Şişli-Mecidiyeköy station, and use the “Torun Center Exit.” However, when I got off at the station, I realized that no such exit existed. Until now, the app had never misled me, but this time, because of the wrong information, I was late to an important theater performance and became very upset. After exiting at Şişli-Mecidiyeköy, I had to walk at least 10 minutes.
I was using the free version on iOS 17.6.1, and this is the first time I’ve experienced an issue like this. My expectation from Moovit is that the incorrect information in the app be urgently updated and that the necessary checks be carried out so similar errors do not happen again.
