Amazon Prime Account Locked for Verification — Can't Log In
I am an Amazon Prime customer in the USA and since this morning my account has been locked due to a verification request.... When I try to log in and use my Prime benefits, I am unable to proceed because of this verification step and I cannot access my account at all. Until now, I have not been able to
I was locked out of my Amazon account. I called customer service and was told they had detected some unusual gift card purchases. They said I needed to verify my location. They directed me to an "Amazon Verification Center"—which they claimed was CVS—and had me purchase a gift card. My stupid self actually did it. Then they wanted me to go to a different store and do the same thing! That's when I realized something was wrong. I hung up and went to the police to file a report. My work is far from done, but please be careful! If anyone claiming to be Amazon tells you to buy gift cards to verify your account or identity, it's a scam.
