I Got Rust on My LG Washing Machine After 4 Months—Denied Exchange for Better Model
I bought an LG washing machine from Media Markt in April 2024. Shockingly, after just four months of normal use, the machine started to rust! I immediately called customer service, and the technician blamed it on “user error.” Seriously? A brand-new machine rusting that quickly isn’t normal.
I refused to accept that excuse and filed a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Board. Thankfully, they ruled in my favor and approved a product exchange. I went back to Media Markt, and they said they would either replace the product with the same model or issue a refund. I explained I didn’t want the same model because I feared the same issue would happen again. I offered to pay the difference for a different model, but they refused.
