Lacoste SPORT Shoe Fabric Opened and Defect Claim Rejected
On 09.03.2025 I purchased a Lacoste SPORT LT 125 Court Men’s Black Sneaker for ₺4,649 via lacoste.com.tr. The product was delivered to me on 10.03.2025 in Istanbul. The invoice number is ETA2025000574721 and the order number is 2863191134912578P1. During normal walking, the fabric on the upper part of the shoe opened up on its own. There was no external intervention to the product and no repair attempt was made. I had not been wearing the shoe for a long time, so there is no intensive use that could justify such wear and tear. I opened a review request with the number LAC875603. The result was communicated to me only via a single-sentence SMS stating that “it has been concluded that it is not due to a manufacturing defect.” The message did not indicate what type of examination was carried out, by whom it was examined, or on which concrete findings this conclusion was based. Thus, the claim for a product costing ₺4,649 was rejected with a one-line SMS without any justification. Afterwards, I requested a detailed written inspection report via your WhatsApp line and I am currently waiting for a response. As the delivery date of the product is 10.03.2025, the 2‑year liability period under Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection has not yet expired. I request that a detailed and reasoned written inspection report regarding the examination, together with the product photos taken during the inspection, be shared with me and that either the product price be refunded or the product be replaced with a non-defective equivalent. Otherwise, I will apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
