Kosmos Visa Failed to Apply Announced Cascade Visa Rules for My Family
We submitted a Schengen visa application for Greece for our family of four (myself, my spouse, and our two children) from Istanbul on July 24, 2026, through Kosmos Visa Services. As announced on the application center’s own official social media account, under the "cascade visa" system that came into effect on July 15, 2025, Turkish citizens who have received and properly used two Schengen visas within the last three years are supposed to be granted a one-year multi-entry visa.
Although my spouse, my son, and I meet this criterion completely, all four members of our family were issued visas valid for only six months. The three of us hold two previously obtained and properly used Schengen visas each, and we meticulously adhered to all regulations, including the 90/180-day rule, on all entries and exits. Despite this, shorter-duration visas were issued without any reason being explained to us.
It is also clear that this six-month limitation does not stem from passport validity; one of our children received a new five-year passport this year, which is valid for a long time, while our other child's passport is valid until the end of 2027. In other words, our passports possess validity far exceeding the requested period. Despite this, we cannot comprehend why the officially announced Cascade rule was not applied.
Furthermore, when we attempted to call Kosmos Visa to inquire about the matter and obtain an explanation, we experienced severe difficulty reaching them; because phone calls go unanswered, connecting with customer service has become nearly impossible. This situation has left us deeply disappointed in terms of both transparency and our confidence in the application process.
Every visa application represents a significant financial cost, time investment, and effort for our family. The non-application of an officially announced facility—despite our clearly fulfilling its conditions—causes both financial and emotional distress. We demand a detailed evaluation of this matter, a written and reasoned explanation regarding our specific application file, and the consistent, reliable enforcement of the announced Cascade rule for applicants who meet its criteria.
