Google One Charges $11 Annual Storage Fee via Disabled Mobile Carrier Billing
On August 23, 2026, while trying to purchase additional storage space through Google One, I was redirected to mobile payment even though the direct carrier billing feature was disabled on my Vodafone line. Although I canceled the transaction within seconds, the annual fee of approximately $11 was billed to my monthly phone invoice at the exact same time.
Neither Google is refunding this charge, nor has Vodafone removed it from my bill. I find it completely unfair that an unauthorized transaction occurred on a line where direct carrier billing was turned off, and that an annual fee was immediately collected for a service I canceled.
I demand that Google One and Vodafone cancel this transaction, fully refund the charge added to my bill, and explain how such a transaction occurred while carrier billing was disabled on my account.
