In the past month, I opened Futures positions on Gate.io for the EDGEN/USDT and UNITE/USDT trading pairs. However, these pairs were closed for Futures trading very quickly—especially UNITE/USDT, which was removed in less than two months. This caused me to lose a total of $150, even though these cryptocurrencies are still available for regular spot trading.
I entered these trades fully aware of the risks, and I accept that Futures trading carries the possibility of losses. But what I cannot accept is Gate.io enabling Futures for a coin and then suddenly closing the market in such a short time. This feels unfair, misleading, and undermines trust in the platform. In particular, the removal of UNITE/USDT on August 14, 2025, left me feeling deceived. I made all of my trades through the mobile app.
I expect Gate.io to show more transparency and accountability when it comes to Futures listings. Futures markets should not be opened and then closed so quickly, as this practice leaves users at a serious disadvantage and creates unnecessary financial harm. I request a clear explanation and corrective action to ensure traders are not subjected to such losses in the future.
