Garena Free Fire auto-updated and now lags badly — how can I roll back or optimize it?

If the latest update to Free Fire is making the game very lag, you usually can't go back to an older version through official means because the developers don't support it. Instead, work on optimizing to fix problems with performance.

First, go to your device's settings and clear the app's cache. This will get rid of any temporary files that are broken and could be causing problems.

Next, make sure you have the most recent version of Google Play Services (for Android) or iOS system updates.

Then, make sure the game's "Auto-update low-GPU settings" (or a similar option) is turned on so it can change the graphics for smoother gameplay.

If your Android device gets too hot or your FPS drops, change the graphics settings from "Ultra" to "Smooth" and turn off frame rate boosts.
