Unprofessional FlixBus Service - I Lost Half a Day and Extra Money

We purchased a ticket for a Brugge trip from Brussels Midi station with a departure time of 15.09/07:30, and my husband and I were at the bus stop by 07:15. The bus arrived around 08:00, and after all passengers boarded and checked in, the driver just waited without explanation. He did not know English or apparently French either, only saying there was a technical problem but giving no departure time or solution. We kept asking if another bus would come to replace it, but he gave no answer. Later, we learned that he had crashed into another car before arriving at the stop and they were waiting for the police. Still, no one informed us how long it would take. After more than two hours, all passengers got off, took their luggage, and tried to find a train to Brugge. We had to pay extra for train tickets and lost half a day of our trip due to Flixbus’s unprofessional service. When we requested a refund on their website, they told us we should have waited 12 hours. As tourists planning just a one-day trip to Brugge, we lost half our holiday, spent more money, and they refused to refund the ticket we never used. Best regards, Duygu D***.
