We bought FlixBus tickets for the 1:35 PM bus from Hamburg to Copenhagen. The bus arrived late, at 2:10 PM. While reversing, a bicycle attached to the back of the bus slightly bumped into another bus, and as a result, we were made to wait for more than two hours. During this entire time, no one provided any information about when the bus would finally depart.
While waiting, my son went to the café across the street to use the restroom. During that short time, the bus suddenly departed. Despite my pleas, the driver said, “That’s not my problem, I can’t wait,” and drove off without my son. Thankfully, my son managed to catch up with the bus at a red light just outside the terminal, otherwise he would have been left behind in a foreign country. It was an incredibly stressful and frightening experience. In a supposedly developed country, the staff didn’t even feel the need to make an announcement, and after making passengers wait for over two hours, they couldn’t wait two minutes for a child.
We were treated with no empathy, and this entire situation left us deeply upset. I am filing a formal complaint — FlixBus caused us immense distress. I will never consider using this company again. On top of that, when buying the ticket through the app, it wasn’t possible to choose seats, and we also had major problems finding places to sit on the bus. This trip was a complete disappointment.
