I Got Charged by FitMe Without Consent After Accidental Click on an In-App Ad

July 15, 2025 1:11 PM151

While using another app, I accidentally clicked on a FitMe advertisement that appeared on screen. The moment I tapped it, an automatic membership was created without my consent, and a fee was immediately charged to my Vodafone mobile line. I never authorized this transaction—there was no confirmation screen, no request for approval, and no opportunity to cancel.

This feels extremely deceptive and absolutely not legal. How can a company charge users just because they accidentally clicked on an ad? I never intended to subscribe or purchase anything, and I certainly wouldn’t have approved a payment for a service I didn’t ask for.

I demand a full refund for the unauthorized amount that was deducted. Additionally, I urge the platform and carriers to prevent this kind of abuse by blocking such unethical subscription models. This issue must be addressed promptly, and my mobile number must be removed from their billing system immediately.
