Dexcom ONE Plus Shows 40 While Finger Stick Shows 160
I started using the Dexcom ONE Plus glucose monitoring sensor for the first time today. I had previously been using Cibioniks, but after switching to the Dexcom ONE Plus this evening, the sensor continuously showed my blood glucose as being low. I became suspicious because I was receiving “Low” alerts in the app even though I did not feel that my blood sugar was actually low, so I checked my glucose with a finger-stick meter.
The finger-stick meter showed a blood glucose level of 160 mg/dL, while the Dexcom sensor showed 40 mg/dL at the same time. The difference is extremely significant, so I cannot rely on the sensor, and this is preventing me from managing my treatment properly. I purchased the sensor from Dexcom’s website approximately one week ago.
Because I believe the sensor is defective, I request that it be replaced. I ask that this sensor, which is providing inaccurate readings, be replaced with a new one free of charge and that the necessary checks be carried out.
