Dell Laptop Listed as Factory Sealed Was Already Opened
In December 2025, I contacted a seller on Hepsiburada about purchasing a Dell laptop. The listing described the computer as "brand new" and "factory sealed," so I specifically asked whether the product was truly unopened and exactly as it left the factory. The seller initially replied that the laptop was brand new and factory sealed, stating that they had only installed the operating system. I then asked a follow-up question to confirm whether the device was completely untouched and in its original factory condition. At that point, the seller explained that all of their laptops are sold after being configured, meaning the products are not actually untouched factory-sealed units.
I find it misleading that a laptop can be advertised as "brand new" and "factory sealed" when it has already been opened and modified before sale. The fact that this information only became clear after I asked detailed follow-up questions is concerning and does not reflect the level of transparency customers should expect.
I believe Dell should more closely monitor the sellers who represent and sell its products, especially on major online marketplaces. I respectfully request that Dell ensure authorized or recommended sellers accurately describe their products and use terms such as "brand new" and "factory sealed" only when they truly reflect the condition of the product. Greater oversight would help protect customers from misleading product descriptions and improve confidence in the Dell brand.
