BudgetAir Error Caused Qatar Airways Check In Failure
On August 20, 2026, I purchased a ticket through BudgetAir to travel from Washington, DC to Ankara with Qatar Airways. On the day of the flight, when I tried to complete online check-in through the Qatar Airways website, I was unable to check in because my personal information had been entered incorrectly by BudgetAir. As a result, I missed my flight.
I then wanted to change my ticket to the next available flight on August 25. However, I was charged an additional $520.10 per passenger, for a total of $1,040.40 for two tickets. Because my children were waiting for me in Türkiye and this was my first trip to Türkiye with my newly married spouse, I had no choice but to pay this amount so that I would not miss the next flight as well. I had originally paid $879 for a round-trip ticket for one passenger, so being charged a total of $1,040.40 for two tickets simply to change the date of one direction of the journey was extremely unfair and disproportionate.
After experiencing this problem, I contacted both BudgetAir and Qatar Airways customer service. However, neither company provided any solution, neither accepted responsibility, and the additional fee I was charged was not refunded. I was particularly disappointed to experience such a significant financial and personal inconvenience involving Qatar Airways, a brand I had considered reliable.
I request that the inconvenience caused by this situation be resolved and that the entire additional amount of $1,040.40 charged to me be refunded.
