BiTaksi Driver Overcharged And Behaved Rudely

On 24 August 2026, Monday at around 04:15, I called a taxi from Kurfalı Merkez Taksi, plate 34 T** 29. I was about 300 meter below the stand and chose this stand as it was shown as the closest. The system showed that the vehicle would arrive in about 2 minutes, but the taxi only came after approximately 17 minutes. When I got in the car, the driver told me that he had already turned on the taximeter at the stand and said “just so you know”. For a distance of about 2.1 km, for which an “get on and off” fare should normally apply, he reflected an extra amount by starting the taximeter from the stand instead of from the passenger pick-up point. While the normal fare should have been around ₺230, I was charged ₺460 in total. During the journey, the driver’s diction, manner and tone were harsh and condescending. He spoke in a rude way and said things like “my friend, we turn on the meter at the stand, that’s how we do it, take it or leave it”, which I found completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I work hard to earn my money and I do not accept being treated disrespectfully on top of being overcharged. In addition, I observed that the vehicles of this stand wait on the pavement, blocking the pedestrian path, and I think this also causes problems in traffic. I have already submitted a complaint to the relevant authorities about the stand and the driver. I request that the overcharge for this ride be refunded and that the driver of the vehicle with plate 34 T** 29 be warned and, if necessary, penalised for both starting the taximeter at the stand and for his rude attitude, so that similar incidents do not happen again.
