I Bought a Barbour Polyester-Front Steel Mesh-Back Vest and Its Mesh Is Rusting
I went to the store specifically to buy a Barbour vest with a polyester front and a steel mesh back. I wanted it in black, but the only size they had was navy. Reluctantly, I took the navy one and wore it as my first Barbour vest. From day one, the steel mesh along the back of my neck started tarnishing and turned yellow. Over time, the rust spread, and now it’s visibly corroded. Because I’m often out in public, I can’t wear a vest that looks like it’s falling apart—yet I paid premium price for Barbour quality. I’m frustrated and embarrassed: I bought this vest to protect my reputation, but instead I can’t even wear it. I urge Barbour to inspect the steel mesh in these vests more carefully before selling them. Please address this manufacturing issue promptly.
