Avast Charges Unauthorized $14 Auto-Renewal Fee Year After Subscription Expired

On August 4, 2026, an unauthorized deduction of 499 TRY was made from my bank account under the transaction description "Avast Avap170540019" without my consent or knowledge. I had not given any prior renewal approval on Avast for this transaction. I was previously notified via email that my Avast Premium Security Windows subscription, registered under my email address Du********@icloud.com, had expired and terminated on September 7, 2024. Furthermore, when I log into my Avast account, my bank card does not appear under payment methods, and there is no explanation provided regarding what this membership—which supposedly renewed on August 4—actually is.

Since Avast customer service is based in the United States, I was unable to reach a direct representative. Consequently, I contacted my bank to file a chargeback dispute, and my card was blocked for security purposes. However, my bank could not provide clear confirmation at this time as to whether a refund would be issued.

I demand the immediate refund of this 499 TRY fee deducted without my knowledge or consent, along with the complete and permanent cancellation of the associated Avast subscription under my name to prevent any future renewals.
