Approximately 3–4 months ago, I purchased a 20W charger from a store called Teknik Saat İletişim U*** U***** located in Bayraklı, İzmir. The product was sold to me as an original Apple adapter. On February 6, 2026, at around 9:30 PM, while plugging the adapter into a wall outlet during normal use, it suddenly caught fire and exploded. I was extremely frightened at that moment and believed my personal safety was seriously at risk.
After the explosion, I recorded videos and took photos of both the adapter and the condition of the outlet. The outlet was later tested with a multimeter, and no electrical issues were found in the installation. This indicates that the incident was not caused by a wiring or electrical system problem. Although there is no footage of the exact moment of the explosion, there are clear recordings of the aftermath, including the damaged outlet and the broken adapter parts.
I do not have the receipt, the serial number of the adapter, or the exact purchase date. However, because the product was sold to me as an original Apple product, I request that Apple contact me regarding this serious safety issue and conduct a detailed investigation. Due to the fire and explosion, I believe I was exposed to a life-threatening risk. Therefore, I also ask that my claim for financial and emotional damages be taken into consideration.
