Apple iPhone 16 Warranty Repair Rejected Over Unauthorized Modification Claim

1

I purchased my Apple iPhone 16 from Teknosa on November 8, 2025. After using the device for some time, I began experiencing charging problems. The phone would not charge at all with a cable and would only charge wirelessly, but even then it charged extremely slowly, taking about 30 minutes to increase by only 1%. As a result, I handed the phone over to Teknosa on Thursday evening, September 17, and the device was received by KVK Technical Service on Tuesday, September 22. According to the information in KVK’s system, my device was sent to an Apple repair center, and a note was added stating that “unauthorized modification was detected.” The same service form shows a repair charge of ₺45,562.32 ($930) for a mid-frame replacement. There is no crack, break, or physical impact damage to the mid-frame, so I do not understand how this can be considered user damage, and I do not accept this assessment.

Because I did not approve this charge, the phone will be returned to me. However, I am being seriously inconvenienced by being charged such a high amount for a device that is still under warranty and by having responsibility placed on me based on the serious allegation of an “unauthorized modification.” No work or unauthorized intervention has been performed on the device with my knowledge. If necessary, I am prepared to provide the IMEI and other relevant information directly to the manufacturer. My request to Apple and KVK is that my phone be repaired free of charge under the warranty or replaced in a way that does not cause me any loss in value. Since I believe this issue is not the result of user damage, I request that the mid-frame repair charge be canceled and that my losses and inconvenience be resolved.
