WhatsApp Scam Involves Threats and Blackmail Over Private Photos

27

On November 10, 2025, a person using the Nigerian phone number +2348161891695 contacted me via WhatsApp and stated that they had access to my photos. This person told me that if anything happened to me, WhatsApp would be responsible. They demanded money from me, and I made two payments through Ziraat Bank, totaling $40 and $46.

The incident began around 4:12 AM, and afterward, I blocked this person on WhatsApp. So far, I have not contacted WhatsApp customer support and have not received any response.

I am requesting that WhatsApp strengthen its security measures to prevent situations like this, ensure user safety, and avoid similar incidents in the future. Additionally, I request that WhatsApp accept responsibility if anything happens to me as a result of this incident.
