I booked a flight for American Airlines using a third-party website. How can I still receive rewards for the flight?

Your miles (rewards) depend on the ticket type and the alliance airline. Ticket purchase location does not affect them.
To earn rewards on your American Airlines flight, add your AAdvantage number to your reservation. You can do this during the booking process when prompted or afterward by contacting American Airlines or the third-party website.
Once your AAdvantage frequent flyer number is associated with your reservation, you can earn miles and qualify for elite status on your flight, just like if you had booked directly with American Airlines.
However, these factors must be considered:
• Check third-party websites for fees for adding a frequent flyer number to your reservation.
• Basic economy fares may not earn miles. Check ticket terms and conditions.
• Booking through a third-party website may prevent you from receiving priority boarding and security clearance. Tickets booked directly with the airline usually have these benefits.
