My Account Was Blocked for a 2 Day Delay and My Payment Disappeared at Akbank
Akbank placed a block on my account for a loan that was only two days overdue. I transferred money to make the payment, but the funds aren’t showing up. This is the kind of treatment Akbank constantly gives its customers. When I switched to Akbank, I also moved my time deposit account. Although my term started on the first of the month, over time it kept getting pushed later, and now it falls on the 11th—next month it’ll probably shift to the 12th. Each month it gets delayed by a day or two, and no one even bothers to inform me. Meanwhile, interest rates on time deposits keep dropping, and loan interest rates are much higher than those of other banks. There’s no real benefit to switching banks—don’t be misled by their ads. When I call customer service, all they say is “I’m checking my screens,” followed by “we don’t have the authority to do that.” That’s the only answer I get—no solution, just constant screen-checking.
