Airbnb Host Canceled My New Year’s Bungalow Reservation and Demanded a Higher Price
My spouse and I booked a 2-person bungalow through Airbnb in October for New Year’s Eve. We paid in advance, and the host, Ms. E****, confirmed the reservation. However, she later messaged me, claiming that the price for the property had increased to ₺10,000 due to holiday demand. She insisted that unless I canceled the reservation, I would need to pay the additional amount upon check-in.
When I refused to cancel, she canceled my reservation instead and accused me of taking advantage of the situation. Early booking discounts are a legitimate opportunity that I used fairly, but her actions felt unprofessional and opportunistic. I am extremely disappointed and urge Airbnb to address such unethical behavior by hosts.
