If your purchase failed but Afterpay left a pending charge, you can try to reverse the authorization hold like this:

• Check the app to confirm the order appears as canceled or not completed
• Verify with your bank whether the charge is still “pending” (authorization) and not fully posted
• Take screenshots of the failed transaction and the pending charge
• Note the date, merchant, and payment method used

In many cases, authorization holds are released automatically within a few days if the purchase was not completed.

Contact Afterpay through the app:

• Go to My Orders → Help
• Select the failed transaction
• Explain that the charge is still pending even though the purchase did not go through
• Attach screenshots as evidence

Request that they:

• Confirm whether the amount is only a temporary authorization
• Provide the exact timeframe for release
• Manually void the authorization if the timeframe has already passed
• Assign a case number and responsible agent

If the hold is not released within the stated timeframe:

Share your case on Xolvie so others are aware and the company is prompted to act.
