Can scammers steal money from my card just because I answered a call?

Act immediately if you:

Shared card details, CVV/CVC, passwords, or verification codes.
Approved an unfamiliar transaction.
Transferred money to an account provided by the caller.
Clicked a suspicious link and entered banking information.
Installed remote-access software or gave someone control of your device.

A recorded “yes” or similar phrase is generally not enough to authorize a banking transaction. However, avoid sharing personal or financial information with unknown callers.

Warning signs: The caller claims to be from a bank or government agency, creates urgency, mentions suspicious transactions, requests codes or payments to a “safe account,” asks you to install an app, or pressures you not to hang up.

If you are unsure, end the call and contact the organization using its official phone number.

If you only answered, shared nothing, clicked no links, installed nothing, and approved no transactions, the call itself does not normally give scammers access to your money.

If you suffered a loss or encountered a scam, report it on Xolvie to warn other users.
