After uploading a file:

Log into your Pro account.

Upload the file and choose how to send it (by email or via link).

In the settings before sending, enable the “Password protect” option.

Set a password and share it with the recipient in a secure way (not in the same email).

This protects the content even if the link is leaked. In the free version, this feature is not available, but you can manually archive the file with a password (ZIP/RAR) and send it as a regular file.
