I Want to Cancel My Turkcell Line but They Demand Full Device Payment

I want to cancel my Turkcell postpaid mobile line because my phone number has been widely shared and, as a result, I am constantly being disturbed and contacted against my will.

Although there are only 5 days left until the end of my billing period, when I requested to close my line, I was informed that because of the device installments associated with the account, I cannot switch the line away from postpaid service or cancel it unless I pay the entire remaining device balance in one lump sum.

The device in question is not even registered directly under my own bill. It is reportedly associated with another person’s Turkish ID number, and I was told by the collections department that because the installment amount exceeded approximately $64 per month, it could not be reflected directly on the invoice. For this reason, they claim that if I want to close the line, I must first pay the entire remaining device amount immediately and in full.

I purchased the device online, and these conditions were never clearly explained to me in this manner during the purchase process.

Because my phone number has been exposed and I am experiencing serious and ongoing harassment, I no longer want to continue using this line. I am already fully willing to continue paying the device installments on a monthly basis as agreed. However, forcing me to pay the full remaining balance all at once simply because I want to close the line is creating a serious financial and personal hardship for me.

I request that my Turkcell line be closed while allowing my device installments to continue under the same monthly payment plan without interruption. I also request that Turkcell provide flexibility and a fair solution regarding this issue so that I am not unfairly forced into paying the entire remaining device balance immediately.
