An Excessive And Unfair Cancellation Fee Without Any Notification

I have been using a postpaid Turkcell mobile line for years. Approximately 10 days ago I requested the cancellation of my line ending with 8943 via online channels. On 05.10.2026, I noticed that an amount of ₺3,176 was automatically charged to my credit card under the description of “line termination penalty” without any prior clear written or verbal information regarding a commitment violation or any additional fee. During the cancellation process, I was not given clear information in writing or verbally about any early termination fee or line closure penalty. Despite this, charging such an amount from my credit card without my explicit approval or knowledge is, in my opinion, problematic both legally and in terms of consumer rights. I had an ongoing commitment on my line; however, I was not informed in a transparent way about what amount would arise in case of cancellation and on which contractual provision this would be based. I find the way this warning and collection was carried out towards me, as a long-time Turkcell customer, disrespectful. I have recently completed my military service and currently do not have a job or regular income. Therefore, I am not in a financial position to pay this amount taken from my card, and this situation has caused me serious hardship. From Turkcell, I request a detailed explanation of for what reasons and based on which clause of the contract the amount of ₺3,176 reflected to my line ending with 8943 has been collected, and, if there is any mistake or illegality in this transaction, that the necessary correction be made. Taking into account my income situation and current circumstances, I want this fee to be completely cancelled; if this is not possible, I request that it be reasonably placed in instalments or restructured. Within the scope of the Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers and consumer rights, I kindly request that the matter be urgently examined, that my grievance be remedied, and that the necessary steps be taken to prevent similar situations from occurring again.
